Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Troop 312 & The Rotary Club of Mt. Olive Presented the National Court of Honor for Terence Owen Byrne, III On Sunday, December 8, 2002, Boy Scout Troop 312 and the Mt. Olive Rotary presented an Eagle Scout Badge to Terence On Byrne III. In addition, Mayor Licitra presented him with a Proclamation declaring December 8, 2002, Terence Owen Byrne III Day. Terence has quite an impressive record in scouting, having held the following rank advancements: Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and now Eagle. He held the following Troop Leadership Positions: Patrol Leader, Venture Crew Chief, and, Order of the Arrow Troop Representative. Within the Order of the Arrow, Terence held the following leadership positions: Troop Representative Chairman, Vice Chief of Administration, Vice Chief of Lore, and Lodge Chief. Terence has also been actively involved and has achieved the following accomplishments: BSA Lifeguard, BSA Mile Swim, BSA Snorkeling, OA Vigil Honor, 50 Miler, JLT Participant and National Leadership Seminar Participant. The following merit badges were awarded to Terence: Aviation, Basketry, Camping, Canoeing, Citizenship in the community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Climbing, Communications, Cooking, Emergency Preparation, Environmental Science, Family Life, Fingerprinting, First Aid, Fishing, Indian Lore, Leatherwork, Lifesaving Metalwork, Orienteering, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, Pionering, Rowing, Sailing, Sports and Swimming. His community involvement includes participating in the March of Dimes and the ITCA Special Olynpics Triathlon. He also volunteers with St. Jude's Church. visiting the residents at Cobblestone and collecting food for Thanksgiving baskets. Terry enjoys school and is an active senior at Mt. Olive High School. He is involved in a variety of clubs and sports. Terry is a member of the Student Council, Varsity Club and Interact Club. He is currently serving as Student Council President of Mount Olive High School. For the past four he has been on the Varsity Ice Hockey Team and the Varsity Golf Team. In the Winter months, Terry works at Source 4 Wireless and is a counselor at Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation, Camp Somers, in the summer. When Terry graduates from high school in June, 2003, he plans to attend college and become either an athletic trainer or a teacher. Terry says "he wants to enjoy what he does in life and have fun doing it."
