	Pneumovax (Pneumococcal Polysaccharide) vaccine

The Township of Mount Olive has received Pneumovax (Pneumococcal Polysaccharide) vaccine through a grant. Therefore, we are able to offer it to employees and community members for FREE.

Pneumovax protects against pneumococcal disease which is one of the leading causes of vaccine-preventable disease and death in the United States.

Adults who have never had the vaccine are eligible for it. Usually only one dose is needed in a lifetime. A second dose is recommended for those people over 65 years of age who were under 65 at the time of the first dose and at least five years have passed. We recommend that you discuss this with your primary care physician.
