Recreation Master Plan

What types of recreation do you enjoy? What recreation facilities should the town plan for in the future? Are there county, state, or private sector facilities that could be encouraged? A Recreation Master Plan is being developed by the township to address these issues. The public is encouraged to attend a public workshop on Thursday, May 25 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Township Meeting Room.

The workshop invites residents of all ages to participate. Whether you prefer organized sports, lake activities, or quiet walks in the woods, the recreation master plan will address the issue. The Recreation, Environmental, and Open Space Committees are working together with township staff to develop the plan.

The plan will include an assessment of what facilities exist, what properties are held for public use, and what programs are offered. From the collected data a needs assessment is being conducted to plan for future recreation. Recommendations will include how our parks and open space are managed or developed, and what policies should be addressed.
