Mount Olive Township Trails

On October 31, 2009 at the Fall Fest at Turkey Brook, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, opening the Mount Olive trail, at 2pm.
This Girl Scout Gold Award (equivalent to the Boy Scout Eagle Award) project was coordinated by Kelly Maiello and Brittany Escobar of Mount Olive Girl Scout Troop 556. This project is the first step towards completing Phase 1 of Mt. Olive’s Trail Plan. The project entailed blazing, clearing and marking a trail which begins at Mount Olive High School, crosses into Turkey Brook Park and ends at Gold Mine Road and is approximately 5 miles in length.
After the ribbon cutting ceremony, Brittany and Kelly of Troop 556 will lead a guided hike to Maier’s Pond and back to Turkey Brook Park. This hike is approximately 3 miles and will take about one hour.
If considering going on this hike with us, please wear appropriate clothing. Please meet at the service road between the football and single baseball fields at 2:00pm.
Please visit our booth at the Fall Fest for more information about the trail, to pick up trail maps and Mt. Olive’s Trail Plan.
