This course will provide you with a deep understanding of dental prac¬tices such as sterilization of instru¬ments, teeth anatomy, basic dental radiology, and other day-to-day functions required to assist a pro¬fessional dentist. The 9th edition of Modern Dental As¬sistant by Torres & Ehrlich is required. Approximate cost of the book is $75.00. The book can be ordered at Barnes & Noble and shipped to your home.

BOATING SAFETY COURSE

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will teach a Boating Safety course for all Boaters 13 years or older who intend to operate a PWC, power boat or ride in one. This 8-hour course provides the basic techniques and knowledge necessary for SAFE recreational boat­ing. All materials will be provided.

Participants who suc­cessfully complete this course will receive the NJ State Police Boating Safety Certificate which is required to operate a power boat (certain ages) and for all PWC operators in New Jersey.

Defensive Driving Course

All classes run on Saturdays from 9:30am-4:00pm at A-1 Peck’s facility. Choose one of the following dates.

For drivers who want to have violation points removed from their license, this state-approved, six-hour course is a must! Upon successful completion, you can have up to two points removed from your driver’s license. Upon completion, NJ drivers are eligible to receive a minimum of 5% off their annual auto insurance premiums for a three year period; insurance discount is renewable by attending course every three years. No discounts. NO REFUNDS FOR NO SHOWS!

INTRODUCTION TO BASIC MEDICAL CODING

This course will introduce the students to basic International Classification of Disease, ICD-9-CM coding and AMA American Medical Association, CPT procedural
coding. Course outline includes basic instruction for diagnostic coding and Evaluation and Management service codes for physician offices, Emergency department, or hospital basic physician Out-patient clinics.

Pre-requisite: Students need to purchase and read the book, “Quick Medical Terminology” by Shirley Soltesz Steiner prior to first class.
Book is available at Barnes & Noble in Ledgewood for approx. $25.

Every aspect of professional bartending is covered, including drink making, drink preparation techniques, bar-related tools/condiments, customer service, seeking employment, opening/closing a bar, party bartending and alcohol awareness - to name just a few. Upon completion of the course students are issued a Graduation License which is approved by the NJ Department of Education. Licensing is recognized in all 50 States. You only have to be 18 years old to take the course and to legally bartend in NJ, NY, PA and most States. Other than that there is no educational requirement or other requirements necessary to take the course.

Learn how to sail using Aquafinn and Phantom lateen-rigged boats as well as Designers Choice and American 14.6 sloops; a mix of boats that permit students to learn to sail both slooprigged (2 sails) and single sail boats on the safety of Budd Lake. Red Cross Certified instructors teach all courses. Water sessions are subject to rescheduling due to inclement weather and arranged per instructors. Textbook is included in the fee. Students passing the written and sailing tests will receive a Red Cross Certificate. Students must be 18 years old, or accompanied by a parent, and able to swim. For students under 18, they must weigh at least 80 lbs. Each student must supply a PFD (life jacket) for the water sessions.
