Non-resident season passes can be purchased online and picked up at the Recreation Dept. (204 Flanders Drakestown Rd, Budd Lake) M-F 8:30am-4:30pm or at Budd Lake Beach 12pm-6pm everyday from 6/19 through 8/28

Mt. Olive Residents can register on-line for a FREE Beach ID!
(Proof of residency required - email or mail to us! Then we will mail your Beach ID to you.)



Mt. Olive Residents can also bring proof of residency to the Recreation Dept. (204 Flanders Drakestown Rd, Budd Lake) M-F 8:30am-4:30pm, now thru seasons end or at Budd Lake Beach 12pm-6pm everyday from 6/19 through 8/29.

Beach Rules and Regulations

Personal conduct on the beach must ensure the safety of yourself
and others!

Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
(Due to lack of shelter, NO MINORS, under 18, may be left unattended)

Beach and swim areas are open only when the lifeguard is on duty.

Swim only in specified areas.

Non-swimmers must stay in shallow end.

Dispose of Trash properly, including recyclables.

No food or drink is allowed in the water.

Uncontrolled beach toys may be confiscated.

Minors must pass a deep end test prior to playing unaccompanied in the deep end without an adult.
(Deep End Tests will be offered daily at: 12:15, 2:15, 3:15, 5:15 - at lifeguard's discretion)

Parents can take one child at a time into the deep end, but must stay in arms length of the child at all times.

The following are NOT permitted:

Pets Alcohol Fishing
Chewing Gym Rough Play Spitting or spouting of water
Profanity Feeding the Wildlife Glass
Rafts and other Inflatables Grills and open fires Hanging on buoy line
Smoking Playing with lifeguard equipment  
Diving in shallow end Drugs and controlled substances  

 

 

 

Paddle Boats

Rentals are on the half hour from 12:30-5:00 PM and include:

5 minutes instruction, approx. 20 minutes water time,
and 5 minutes to return equipment

2 person Pedal boats - $4.00
4 person Pedal boats - $5.00

1 person child Side Wheelers - $2.00
1 person adult Side Wheelers - $2.00
Water Walkers - $2.00

ALL Boaters Must:
Attend 5 minutes of instruction
AND Wear Fastened Lifejackets in order to enjoy the water!

Sign up for boating directly on beach. A registration form is not necessary.

 

 

 

Boating Rules

All patrons MUST wear a lifejacket when using boats.

For Pedal Boats, all children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

No swimming in the boating area.

Boating in designated areas only.

All hand, feet, and objects must stay in the boat at all times.

Patrons must remain seated at all times.

No rocking, tipping or otherwise operating the boat in an unsafe manner.

Boats shall land at the boathouse shore only. Landing boats at any other area is strictly prohibited.

Patrons will be required to return the boats when summoned by the staff.

Patrons are required to conform to limits on the number of occupants and weight load per boat.

Food or drink is prohibited on any boat.

Any patron destroying municipal property will be directed to leave and be liable for damages.

 

 

Thunderstorm Policy

According to NJ State Code
At the FIRST sign of thunder or lightning, all patrons must LEAVE the beach IMMEDIATELY. Seek safe shelter either in your car or the building.

We will reopen 15 minutes after the last sign of the thunderstorm is over, when it is safe again.

 

 

 

 

Swim Lessons

Non-Residents must have Season pass to join Swim Lessons

1 week sessions (5 weekday classes)
Children must be at least 3 years old

$35.00 per child DISCOUNTS: $5 off for each sibling
($5 late fee for registrations received Sat or Sun prior to session)

In order to serve you better:
Each Class has minimum and maximum number of students. To plan staffing, we need to know the demand for each class


Session A: June 21- 25   Session E: July 19 - 23   Session I:August 16-20
Session B: June 28 - July 2   Session F: July 26- 30    
Session C: July 5- 9   Session G: August 2-6    
Session D: July 12-16   Session H: August 9-13

{In case of cancelled lesson, make up classes will be held at the discretion of the instructor. Safety lessons on Thunderstorm days will be held the Municipal Building. An instructor will call you with details}

 

Level I- Sandpipers

1:30-2:00, 3-3:30
Pre-requites: Can separate from parent & works in a group setting
Learn: Water Adjustment, Blowing Bubbles, and Safety Skills

2:30-3:00, 3:30-4, 4:00-4:30
Prerequisite: Can Blow bubbles and Submerge face 3 sec.
Learn: Float & Glide on front and back-No Help,
Front & Back Stroke 5 yards, and Safety Skills

Level III - Seahorses

2-2:30pm, 3:30-4pm, 4-4:30pm
Prerequisite: Can Float & Glide on front and back, and Front & Back Stroke 5 yards - No Help
Learn: Elementary Backstroke, Back Crawl, Front Crawl w/Rotary Breathing and Safety Skills

Level IV, V, VI, VII

4:30-5:15
Prerequisite: Can do Elementary Backstroke, Back Crawl, and Front Crawl w/Rotary Breathing
Learn: Breaststroke, Butterfly, Alternate Breathing, Distance Swimming and Safety Skills

Level 1 & 2 classes are subject to a min. of 4 students & a max. of 6 students per instructor
Levels 3-7 classes are subject to a min. of 4 students & a max. of 10 students per instructor

FIRST choose a basic Beach Rental option:

1. During Regular Open Beach Hours - $30/hr per 30 people
-OR-
2. Before or After hours (have the beach to yourself) - $65/hr per 30 guests
Add-On Options (to basic Beach Rental):
A. Beach Staff Coordinated Activities - ½ hour for $50 per 30 people
B. Boats - $10/hr x # of boats (before & after hour parties ONLY!)
