Photography Club – On
the Wild Side!
Coming this winter 2011
We are Focusing on Wildlife and Stop
Action Shots!
Students will learn the basic fundamentals of camera
operation through classroom lesson and on hand use.
Use of digital and film cameras will be put into practice.
Students should bring in their own camera.
Here is a high level
outline of the program
This is subject to change
and adjust as the program unfolds.
1st Class
Basic Photography: Students will be given an
overview of the fundamentals of photography. This will
include basic camera operation, & composition of
subject.
2nd Class
Disposable camera use
Students
will apply the composition aspect of the 1st class.
3rd Class
Students will review the disposable
camera photos. Digital camera use... Students will apply
the basic camera & composition aspect of the 1st
class.
4th Class
Students will review the digital camera
photos. Film camera use
Students will apply the
basic camera & composition aspect of the previous
classes.
5th Class
(last) Students will review the film camera photos
and compare the differences between each type of camera.

We are excited to be partnering with Lango to bring high quality children's language learning programs to Mount Olive!
Classes are being offered at each elementary school!
Lango offers weekly, 45-minute Spanish, French and Mandarin Classes in small group, full immersion classes that are fun-filled and active.
Bike Right – Learn to Ride Clinic
Coming Spring 2012

For children ages 5 - 8 $5 per child Limited to 15 participants per session

This outdoor hands–on clinic teaches a safe, easy, effective way to learn to ride. Using this “balance first” method, parents help get their children rolling while the child does most of the work. Participants learn the basics of balancing, starting, stopping and steering a bike as well as proper helmet fit and adjustment. Clinic includes 30 minutes of parent & child orientation and bike prep, followed by 90 minutes of instruction and practice. Please bring bicycles with the training wheels already off. Parents will receive a pre-ride check list prior to the clinic. All children must be accompanied by an adult who will assist them during the clinic. Instruction provided by TransOptions.

Go Green!Let’s Bloom Together is an enrichment program
that provides fun and engrossing environmental science
lessons that
include horticultural activities that help to develop
an appreciation for nature, provides practical application
of environmental
stewardship and life lessons.
At the end of the program, each child will get to
bring home their own project(s), and continue their
involvement beyond the 6 week class time.

While having fun and participating in different activities
each week, they will:
• Develop an appreciation for nature and the environment
• Learn responsibility for themselves and for the

Introduce your pre schooler to the world of music . 30 min. lesson per week for group of 2-4 children.
Music games, exercises, listening to different music and dancing- kids will have fun and receive beginning knowledge of music.
Students will play simple songs on a keyboard and other instruments. They will learn the "A,B,C" knowledge of the music grammar. Instructor Lana Jouk- professional piano teacher.

Each Child will receive a Chef's Hat then make a variety of fun foods and drinks. Each week the kids will have a surprise "healthy ingredient" that will get worked in to whatever the menu of the day is. We are trying to teach the kids that eating healthy is fun when you do it the Chef It Up way!! Nothing boring or yucky we promise!! Some of the foods on the menu are dessert calzones; Harvest Wraps filled with yummy goodness and ghoulish grub (which will be our pumpkin stuffed raviolis to take home to share w/ their families) to name a few...Of course our program is completely peanut and tree nut free. At the last session they will be given a cookbook of all items created in the class so they can recreate everything they loved at home

Imagine Tomorrow classes will teach students basic keyboarding and computer skills. Students will learn thinking and problem solving techniques as well as reading, writing, and listening skills. Each child will have his or her own laptop to use.

Olive Sparklers

Come and Join the Mt. Olive Sparklers!
Baton twirling is a great form of exercise and a fun sport!
Program includes baton twirling instruction combined with dance and marching techniques to enhance rhythm and coordination.
Ages K - 12 are welcome! Classes are grouped by age and ability levels into beginner, intermediate and advanced classes, 45 minutes long between the hours of 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday evenings in CSMS gym Ssunset Road, Budd Lake.
Season begins Monday, September 26, 2011 through Monday, March 26, 2012.
Season End Recital on Friday, March 30, 2012.
Registration fee is $150.00.
Additional fees apply for batons, costumes and awards.
