Participants who successfully complete this course will
receive the NJ State Police Boating Safety Certificate
which is required to operate a power boat and for all PWC operators in NJ.
Mt. Olive Recreation is offering the 2011 American Red Cross course Waterfront Lifeguarding this spring: 40 hour certification course. Classes will be held at Budd Lake Municipal Beach.
Students must attend all classes. Ages 15+
Class Schedule: (Updated Class schedule and syllabus will be emailed to class participants prior to 1st class. Inclement weather may affect class schedule.)

Prerequisites:
*At least 15 years old (Federal Dept.
of Labor requires Waterfront Lifeguards to be at least
16 years of age.)
*Swim a total of 550 yards, including 200 yards of Front
crawl, 200 yards of Breaststroke, 150 yards more of either
stroke,
*Swim 20 yards and surface dive 7-10 feet retrieve a 10lb
diving brick and swim with it 20 yards to starting point
in 1 min. 45 seconds or less.
*Swim 5 yards, submerge & retrieve 3 diving rings
5' apart
