Domestic Violence Crisis Response Team

The Mt. Olive Police Department is looking for volunteers (especially multilingual) for the domestic violence crisis response team. Team members are trained to assist investigating officers in domestic violence offenses by giving support to victims and their families as well as by providing effective intervention immediately following an incident. CRT members meet victims at police headquarters to explain the Domestic Violence Act and its components; make referrals to the Jersey Battered Women's Services; assist the victim in seeking protective shelter; explaining the dynamics of domestic violence; and provide emotional support.

Domestic Violence Crisis Response Team members receive 40 hours of training (trainings are held in the spring and the fall). After completion of training, CRT members attend scheduled DVCRT meetings and are scheduled to be on call at times that are convenient to them.

Please call Ofc. Hatzel at 973-691-0850 extension 7577
or e-mail rhatzel@mopd.org enter "DVCRT" in the subject line.

Peak Mentors and Coaches Volunteering Opportunities

PEAK is a group of parents coming together to give children with differences an equal opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of activities - from sports to the arts and everything in between. We are developing quality programs for our children and need the help of the community to continue to succeed.

PEAK, in cooperation with Pathways, is looking for coaches and instructors who are interested in teaching various sports skills to our children and students who would like to participate in our programs to serve as peer mentors. Pathways is offering us the opportunity to grow our programs using their model for success.
