Mission Statement

The Mt. Olive Recreation Advisory Committee is dedicated to leisure and active recreation programming, facilities and services that will promote the general health, welfare and personal development of the citizens of Mount Olive.

How we help

To fulfill this mission the Committee assists the Recreation Department, Parks, Buildings and Grounds Department, Administration and Town Council by:

  • Providing input, recommendations, and advice to town council with regard to recreation initiatives and concerns

  • Reviewing and making recommendations for instituting guiding principles for recreation programs

  • Providing feedback, advice and recommendations on existing and planned programming and facilities

  • Reviewing, advising, and providing recommendations on Recreation Department and Parks, Buildings and Grounds Department policies, budget allocations, council resolutions, implementation strategies, etc.

  • Helping to identify and find/suggest resources to address the recreational needs and issues of residents all ages, including facilities, programming, special events/activities, and volunteer opportunities.

  • Giving suggestions concerning the development and implementation of creative financial solutions (partnering, fundraising, sponsorships, donations, possible grants, etc.)

Meetings

Recreation Advisory Committee meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm in the Conference Room in the Recreation Department Area of the Municipal Building

Committee Members

For those who are willing to serve a three year term representing the Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations of Mt. Olive, including seniors, parents of young children, teens, special populations, and cultural interests.

Providing advice, recommendations and guidance regarding recreation initiatives and issues throughout Mt. Olive Township for the betterment and safety of its residents.
