provides recreational services for people of all ages

PEAK (sponsored by Mt. Olive Recreation)
is a group of parents coming together to give children
with differences an equal opportunity to be exposed to
a wide range of recreational activities from sports
to the arts and everything in between.
All children are entitled to learn, play
and socialize in a way that fits their individual needs.
It is our mission to ensure that the special needs children
of Mt. Olive are given this opportunity.

Karate'-do
For
special needs children K-5th grade
- Teach all relevant information and methods
of self defense, complex and non complex skills.
- Administer specific strategies for improving
behavior in children.
- To have model students attend the classes
for positive reinforcement.
- Use specific tools and techniques to
help the children develop their motor skills and coordination.
Dates: 4/6-6/22 10 weeks (no
class 4/13 & 5/25)
Time: Mondays, 5-6pm.
Location: CMS gymFee: $110
Registration deadline 3/25.
Uniform optional: approx. cost $20-$27.
Students are responsible for ordering their own white
uniform & belt. Suggested sources: Karate

Preschool Playgroup
Calling all preschool kids! Come play
with us! Are you looking for a way to help your child
learn those social cues and have a little fun while doing
it? Well, we're starting a play group just for preschoolers!
Starting in June we will be meeting at
a different local park every Friday at 5:00pm. Siblings
are welcome! If you're interested please fill in the form

Please Note: Dress appropriately for the
weather. Make sure to bring plenty
of fluid and a little snack to eat in case hunger strikes
during the session! Shin guards
are highly recommended and can be purchased at any sporting
goods store.
Please bring your own ball if possible.

Summer Swimming
Run by Brian Devins, Special Education
Phys Ed teacher and Head Coach of MOHS swim team, special
needs children will have the opportunity to learn to swim
in a small, individualized environment. Coach Devins will
be assisted by MOHS swim team students. Class sizes will
be kept small for the ultimate learning experience.
Program dates: 7/6-7/30, 4 weeks, total
of 16 sessions (no bad weather make up classes).
Time: Mon-Thur, 30 min. sessions that
starts at 3:30pm, 4:00pm, 4:30pm, 5:00pm & 5:30pm.
Location: Vasa Park, Budd Lake
Class size: 6 students or less, instructor
to student rational 1:2
Class fee: PEAK Active Members $160, non-members

Skill level: beginner
Age: Program is geared towards age 5 years and up.

PEAK Calming Yoga
Program dates: 6/13 and 6/20
Time: Sat, 10:30 am -11:15 am
Location: Mt. Olive Senior Center
Cost: $30
Age: 3 and above
Students will be allowed to borrow yoga mats during class
or he/she may bring their own.

PEAK
Weeks at Highview Farms
The camp is run by Roseann, the owner
of the farm. She runs camps throughout the entire summer
but has dedicated 2 weeks in August just for our PEAKsters.
She will open the camp up to non PEAK kids if enrollment
is low. The kids have a great time experiencing farm life,
playing and making crafts. A small snack is included.
"Helpers" can be provided if necessary. PEAK
Volunteers attend the camp for free.
Program dates: 8/17-8/28
Time: Mon-Fri, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Highview Farms, Sandshore Rd,
Budd Lake
Age: 5 years and up is recommended (check
with us for younger children)
Cost: $100 per week, per child
