To ensure your child's safety, Helmets are mandatory for all participants including Chaperones.

The buses will depart from

Mt Olive High School, Corey Rd , Flanders

at 4:30pm

Please park to drop off.

After an evening of open skiing, skiers will report back to their assigned bus by 10 p.m. to depart Shawnee Mountain Ski Area.

The buses will return to

Mt Olive High School, Corey Rd , Flanders

at 11:00 p.m.

Parents, please be prompt for pickup.

In case of adverse weather conditions & possible postponement:
listen to WRNJ Radio (FM 1510) on FRIDAY afternoon. In addition, an announcement will be made at school or you may call a recorded message at (973) 691-0900 x 7262 on FRIDAY after 12:00 noon to hear of a postponement.
The Recreation Department will reschedule canceled trips; although, the make-up date may not be on a Friday.

Upon arrival at Shawnee Mountain, instructions for lessons and equipment rentals will be given.

cartoon picture of a skiing penguin To stay warm, be sure to wear gloves/mittens, a hat, and dress in several layers. Ideally, non-cotton (i.e. polyester) may be worn as a first layer to wick water away from the skin. In addition, renters are advised to wear wide pants cuffs to fit over ski boots.

Snowboarding Participants: Due to the high risk of wrist injuries, wrist guards are mandatory

Shawnee Behavior Problems and dismissals

Behaviors that will constitute suspension from the ski program include: Use or signs of use, of tobacco, alcohol, drugs; abusive or disruptive language; abusive or disruptive actions, violence - verbal or physical, disobedience of chaperone or Shawnee representative before, during, or after any trip.

Coach Bus departs Mt. Olive High School at 3 pm and returns by 11pm
Registration deadline is November 13, 2011.
